A VERY BRIEF HISTORY...

Animation and Visual Effects

I have been a  Visual Effects Artist for 5 years now... From learning 3D animation, to Compositing in After Effects, I have really begun to learn the trade as far as the in's and out's of VFX... I now have 2 films under my belt to credit.  Those films are the 2010 production of Harvester by One17 Productions, as well as El Alambrista: La Venganza, which is currently still in post-production.

In Harvester, I was reponsible for a mere 3 total VFX shots, including character replacement, matte painting, and motion graphics.

Currently, in El Alambrista: La Venganza, I have put together a total of 85 VFX shots.  The film is my first full-length film, so I am very excited!  I have done many things in this film, including face matching to create zombie facial features, as well as lighting a character on fire to save money for the director on stunt crews.  The film is slated to be finished by April of this year!

Graphic Design

I have been in Graphic Design since finishing school in 2006.  At that time, I was hired by KGUN 9 television in Tucson as a Graphic Artist.  I started by simply creating in-show graphics with Photoshop, and I also operate the VizRT graphics system during live newscasts.

Over the past few years, I have quickly become the stations go-to guy when it comes to promotional animations, 3D animations, and Compositing.  I spend most days still building graphics for 4 different newscasts as well as building animations for our Promotions department on a daily basis.

I have also done design work for the various radio stations that are owned by the company, including 94.9 MIXfm, 104.1 The Truth, 106.3 The GROOVE, and ESPN radio in Tucson.

Artist

Ever since I was a child, I have loved to draw.  I started by learning to draw different cartoon characters at a young age, and developed over the years in to the artist I am today.

I feel my love for art is what really shows through the Visual Effects I create.  I feel that having a sense of imagination and creativity is vital in being a successful Visual Effects artist.

I still find time to this day to drop the mouse and pick up my pencils, colored pencils, or whatever I can find to stay true to my roots.  It makes creating VFX easier, and vice versa.  I'm a strong believer in constantly practicing to perfect my craft, and hard work truly does pay off.
